Training for a big hike- day one in the cane fields.

Looks like a long way down… that ought to get our heart rates up!

Training for a big hike: Day One. (See previous post for what the heck this is about.)

Training for the Crater hike

Through cane fields straight downhill

there must be a bottom down here, somewhere!

Two small dogs, one tall husband
And a fear of fire.
What is that rustling in the cane?

The vog could be smoke…

I imagine a great chase scene for one of the books.

Home at last
90 min, 3.75 km, 278 calories burned.

A disappointing total for our sweat production.

We are not ready
For the Crater but
I’m ready for a nap.
