I’m so happy to debut youngest Michaels girl Jade’s story! I danced in my younger years, and have been a huge fan of the So You Think You Can Dance reality show. Every interest I have eventually finds itself into my writing, so I enjoyed revisiting the intense drama of the best competitive dancing to hit TV, and inventing a show.
By making this story a “retro” romance, set in 1992, I could include some of the artists and songs that defined the late 1980s and early 1990s, and to remember things like Walkmans and pagers and how easy it was for misunderstandings to happen in the age before cell phones.
The world has changed a lot since then, but finding love, in all its beautiful complexity, has not.

I loved the music from the 80’s, 90’s I loved, even more, because I was younger! LOL!
Looking forward to reading this one. Things I liked about the 80’s and 90’s: rock and pop music , MTV, flip cell phones, VHS, shows on TV like Dr. Quinn and Magnificent Seven.
My favorite thing about the 1980’s is that fashion tried to come back with a feminine flair. I was in my 20’s thru the 80’s and working at a bank. The dresses!! The nylons!! The very long nails with gold stripes and all the GOLD jewelry!!! It was a very fun time. What I liked most about the 90’s is that I saw my child embrace very naturally every color person he met with out a single thought. I was watching the world change.
The 80’s finished college, finished grad school (twice!), had a great time with my friends, married the man of my dreams, I was tall, had an awesome figure (did I mention I was TALL), & had really thick hair so BIG hair was good to me!! The 90’s came along & I had my children. I was still TALL but had my children later in life (33 & 36) so that awesome figure was on the way out by the end of the 90’s!! Beautiful children though! 80’s music was probably better than 90’s music. Or, it could be that I just married someone who only listens to country ….

I loved the 1980s and 1990s. My husband and I were high school sweethearts and after 20 years and bad marriages we met each other again at a school reunion. We got married in 1981 and it’s been 35 wonderful years!
By the end of the 80’s I’d had my 4th child. So during the 80’s and 90’s , I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom and enjoyed raising my kids.
Loved the story Toby — sooooo good. I’m thrilled the series is continuing!

I loved the 80’s music, Motley Crue, Pat Benatar, Journey, so many ! It was also a time of a vast future in front of me, since I turned 20 in 1981, so many life choices and possibilities! The 90’s where a time I didn’t care for the music but the movie vhs/dvd videos to buy where fantastic . The very very best thing about both times was that my body & mind was still very young . LOL.
My children started graduating from high school in the 1980s & 1990s.
We started our family in the 80’s and finished in the 90’s; miss calling doctor’s office for refills; Top Gun music at the carnivals.
I graduated Suma Cum Laude from college in 1991 at age 40.
I turned 21 in 1981! The 80’s was the greatest era for being a single girl in the big city of Portland, Or! The big hair, all the fab clothes, the punk breakout era, the Madonna effect! LOL The wild rainbow makeup and a wide range of music to enjoy and dance to! The 90’s was The technological advances era! Goodbye records, and cassettes and hello CD’s! The evollution of the cellular phone!!!So much to be thankful for the 80s and 90s!
I loved Ruby’s story, though I haven’t gotten to read Pearl’s yet. I also grew up dancing, in the 80s and 90s, so I’m very excited for this one. It’s funny, we never listened to popular music at home, it was all country and folk, but I hear 80s songs now and recognize them – from dance class! That music definitely had an effect on me, as dance was the best thing in my world. I’m REALLY excited for this book.
